Dan Nightingale was our much loved resident MC for over 8 years and now he’s back for one night only! Fresh out of University in the early Noughties, Dan started working behind the bar in a local comedy club and already the seeds for his future career where sown. He took to the stage for the first time only a few months later and found himself catapulted to the forefront of the comedy scene. One of stand-ups brightest stars. a natural on stage, a total original and one of comedy’s most exciting secrets. Dan combines cutting observation with his natural playfulness, raucous banter with beautiful surrealness, and great gags with heart felt ramblings. His comedy is genuine, creative, honest, unpredictable, original and above all… funny as hell.
Mark Nelson won the inaugural Scottish Comedian of the Year Award in 2006, barely a year after his first-ever open-spot. With his mix of dark humour, cutting observations and superb one-liners he has firmly established himself as one of the UK’s biggest-hitting comedy powerhouses. With a likeable manner on stage belying some of the stronger content, Nelson often has audiences laughing at things they know they really shouldn’t be laughing at. A degree in Politics supports his brilliantly topical writing and, although his stand-up is certainly not for the easily offended, the material is intelligent, well conceived and beautifully crafted, all supported by a very confident delivery.
MC Andy Robinson is a Birmingham based stand up who hosts his own night at the famous Birmingham Glee Club. Comedy Carousel regularly wins Best Night at the Midlands Comedy Awards, and won Best Club Night in the Midlands in the 2015 Chortle Awards. He has also worked as a warm-up artist for shows such as Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Shooting Stars, Later with Jools Holland, Friday Night with Jonathan Ross as well as dozens of others. Andy has been the support act for Sean Lock, Rich Hall and Paddy McGuiness. He is also known as comedy legend Jo Brand’s regular support act and has worked with her for the past 15 years.
